Google Major SEO update
Hummingbird
Hummingbird is said to affect 90% of search queries and as such it is a major Search Engine Optimization update.
Unlike previous algorithm updates, Hummingbird is not aimed at cleaning the Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs) from poor quality content, but to modify the way Google reacts to different types of queries. Hummingbird will let the search engine “read” the actual meaning behind the words & phrase used for the search, rather than taking into consideration each term separately.
Hence, this algorithm is expected to better deal with what SEO specialists call conversational queries which is good news, considering the growing number of mobile search users and voice searchers.
Next step for SEO people and webmasters: try determining all conversational phrases people are likely to use when searching for your services, and classify them into informational, navigational and transactional.
